GVS Long Service Awards
The GVS operates in so many areas across the island in its services for older people, helping to give them regular contact with their peer group and keeping them engaged with the island community.
The Long Service Award Scheme is based on a completion of 12 duties of 2 hours duration per year and runs from a Bronze Award with 10 years of service and a minimum of 120 duties through to the impressive Platinum Awards with 30 years of service with a minimum of 360 duties.
Lady Corder presented a Platinum Award to Mrs Frances Cambrai-Bell alongside 3 Gold Awards. 11 Silver awards and 6 Bronze Certificates.
If anybody is interested in the work of the GVS, especially if they are looking for volunteering opportunities, they would be pleased to hear from you so do have a look at their website at Guernsey Voluntary Service
