A Royal Visitor for Alderney Homecoming

ALDERNEY is set to receive a Royal visit to mark the 80^th anniversary of Homecoming Day.

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh will visit Alderney on Monday 15^th December 2025 to join islanders as they commemorate and celebrate the 80^th anniversary of the first evacuees returning home following the end of World War II (see notes 1 and 2). 

The Lieutenant-Governor of Guernsey, Lieutenant General Sir Richard Cripwell, commented: ‘I am delighted that Her Royal Highness will visit Alderney for what will be a significant anniversary for the Bailiwick. Homecoming is always a very special occasion, marking a unique event, and I am sure The Duchess will enjoy meeting with Homecomers, hearing their stories and sharing in Alderney’s special day.’
