Castle Cornet Gun Firing

The Noon Day Gun firing for the first day of the season for Castle Cornet is a big event in Guernsey Museum's calendar. There was a good turn out on a bright summer's day for His Excellency to get the chance to fire that 32 pound cannon under the watchful eye of the Castle Keepers.

In attendance today, alongside members of the public, were several of the museum staff and some of the battery firing squad who will do the 21 gun salute for the King's Birthday Celebrations in June.

Below you can see His Excellency getting his safety briefing from Castle Keeper Shaun Marsh, watched by Keeper Stuart Falla.
