Coronation Medals to Alderney Bellringers
Bellringers from Alderney who took part in the 'Ring for The King' at St Anne's Church on Coronation Day will receive medals from His Excellency in the belltower at St Anne's Church at their practise session on Monday 12th May.
Guernsey Bell ringers received their medals at a reception in January and the Alderney ringers were also surprised to hear they would receive them and were very happy to wait until an opportunity arose for His Excellency to present them himself.
All people across the British Isles involved in national activities on the day, were eligible for the Coronation Medal. The Office of the Lieutenant-Governor had therefore made the application on their behalf and all those who rang on the day received their medals from His Excellency at a reception at Government House.
