Open Garden at Government House

Mrs Cripwell in the patron of the NGS in Guernsey and this is the second time Government House has opened the whole gardens to the public, the first being in 2023.

Admission is £5 for adults, free entry for children and includes tea and cake in the gardens. There will be a selection of live music performances with the Guernsey Concert Brass, Carly Tucknot singing and Glen Holmes will sing and strum his guitar. For the children, or the young at heart, there will be a Fairy Door Trail and hopefully even the occasional tree tour, times tbc. Grow Ltd will also be there with a Plant Sale so bring some pennies and invest in something green. The Walled Garden at Government House is especially impressive and we hope you will take this opportunity to come and see it.

Supporting Community Nurses in Guernsey, the National Garden Scheme (NGS) is hosting seven open gardens this June, marking its fourth year of hosting the fundraising scheme in the Bailiwick.

The NGS is a charity which raises funds on behalf of several nursing & wellbeing charities. The main beneficiary of the NGS funds is the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN), which is a charity and professional organisation that supports the work of Community Nurses in the British Isles.

The QICN provides training, mentorship, networking and leadership to Community Nurses. It also awards the title of Queen’s Nurse to Community Nurses who have demonstrated excellence in leadership and practice. In Guernsey, we have 17 Queen’s Nurses, which is the highest number per capita of any region across the UK.
