RGLI Blessing of their Colours

At 11am on Saturday 29th November the RGLI hosted a dedicated Service of Blessing & Commemoration at the Town Church (the Regimental Chapel) attended by the Lieutenant-Governor, the Bailiff and representatives from the military, parish, the States and many other organisations happy to see the colours back in Guernsey.

The historic event was led by the Dean of Guernsey, The Very Reverend Tim Barker, in which the newly blessed replicated Regimental Colour were then received by His Excellency.

Immediately afterwards they were presented before a Military Parade & Band in Church Square, including Guernsey's other standards and members of the public.

The annual service of remembrance was held in the Sunken Gardens the following day with wreaths being laid and a simple service with The Dean.

The standard was carried by 2 Lt Tom Selway from the Prince of Wales Regiment.
